I was in town today. The temperature (at the airport) reached 8 degrees C. Most of the snow near sea level has suddenly vanished. It was almost a sunny day with only a thin veil of cloud. The picture was taken on the Ferry out of Horseshoe Bay just before 4 PM. That’s West Vancouver on the left, and Bowen Island on the right. Below the sun, in the distance, are the hills of Vancouver Island.
It is hard to believe that it was only 6 days ago when I was clearing eight inches of snow off of the car.
The good news is that winter is still in full force above 3000 feet on the local hills. I expect to try out my telemark skis this weekend.
