This early-morning picture appeared on CBC showing the destruction of Highway #99 by a major rock fall last night.
Reports are that the road may be closed for up to two days. Although many sections of this highway are under construction in preparation for the Whister Olympics, there was no current activity at this site.
This is on Howe Sound just north of Porteau Cove. Click here for a map of the site. I am estimating the coordinates at North 49.565º and West 123.234º.
