All gone — the truck just came by and picked up my bundles. Where will they go? The Bowen Island Municipal web site says this:
Yard trimmings are collected separately for the whole Island on Wednesdays from April through October (total of 30 weeks) in reuseable containers, brown paper (‘Kraft’) bags, or bundles and transported to the GVRD’s North Shore Transfer Station for composting.
We have our work cut out for us with Daphne on this property on Bowen. After reading your post I am wondering if we should wait until April so they’ll be picked up. Also, if you have any sources for native plants to put in we’d love to know of them. Thanks!
Jesse, when you are ready to manage your Daphne, call the folks at the Garden Club. They are fighting both Daphne and Broom on Bowen Island, and can provide lots of advice about how to proceed. They loaned me the Extractigator – a tool that truly facilitated this odious job.
