Too many pictures of snow! A walk around Killarney Lake

Reading this blog, you’d think we have a lot of snow on Bowen Island. I guess I’ve been showing snow because I like to play in snow and because it is so unusual to have it near sea level. We did have snow, and now most of it has melted. A couple of us walked around Killarney lake today.

Melting ice on Killarney Lake North end of Killarney Lake
I am told that on the weekend the entire lake was frozen.
I’m glad we didn’t bring our skates today.

Broken tree trunk on path
Evidence of the recent winds and snow were everywhere.
Several times we had to climb over the blow-downs on the path.

Mist on Killarney Lake
By the end of our walk the weak winter sun had vanished
and a mist was rising from the lake.
