Variable Star

I just finished reading Variable Star by Spider Robinson and Robert A. Heinlein. It is the kind of space opera that inspired me to learn astronomy and eventually produce shows for planetariums. An outline for the story was written by Heinlein in 1955. His estate offered all seven pages of it to Spider Robinson to flesh out, and finish the book. The science is up-to-date, and it is a great yarn. Robinson is clever and the text sparkles with his wit and surprises.

And what is the connection with the Salish Sea? It was written by Spider here, on Bowen Island.
