This feels like winter on Bowen

The weather station at Pam Rocks, at 10 AM, reports: North winds at 78 Km/hr gusting to 93 Km/hr. There is a weak sun shining through a thin overcast. I can see lots of fresh snow on the hills. Pam Rocks are in the middle of Howe Sound.

The good news is that today there have been no outages on Bowen! (Yet.) This year some of the main power lines that supply the island have been buried. Recently in this neighbourhood there was a project to trim the branches that threaten the overhead lines. So, we have better prophylactic measures this season.

The temperature is 2º C. With poor insulation and lots of windows, I am unable to completely heat my office. So today I am compensating with warm fleece and hot coffee.

We are really grateful to be tucked away out of the reach of those cold outflow winds!
