Frozen Hummingbird Feeder

With this long period of below-freezing snowy weather it must be tough on the resident population of hummingbirds. One of my family commented that among this cohort there must be some feather pointing and someone is asking the question, “Who thought that it was not worth migrating to a warmer climate this winter?”

I know these birds do not count on flower nectar and will eat insects. It is hard to find insects in all this new snow.

This is the second day that I’ve brought the feeders in for thawing.
