Mia the racehorse arrives on Bowen Island

The ad said that if the horse were not purchased immediately, it would become horse meat. With the help of a friend, Lynda scrounged the $500 and rented a 4×4 Jeep and trailer. Now two-year-old Mia, descended from Northern Dancer, Secretariat and other illustrious sires, lives on Bowen Island. Lynda and Mia have a blog: www.raisingmia.com. You can read the whole story in the Island newspaper, The Undercurrent.
