Open Space reflects on a national park for Bowen

Chris Corrigan is a Bowen Islander who is trained to facilitate Open Space meetings. He has offered to open these spaces for Bowen Islanders to explore the many issues being addressed by our community. This blog post is intended to show a quick overview of how an Open Space works, and then link to the written results (only some of which have been filed at the time of this entry). Here is how Chris began the session last Saturday. It was on the subject of the proposal being developed by Parks Canada for a National Park on Bowen Island.

When someone wants people to discuss an issue, that person posts the agenda, and those who wish to discuss that topic meet in a breakout session. Here is the agenda wall that includes the list of Open Space Principles (you can read those agenda titles in the link at the end of this post):

No one needs to be stuck in sessions, there is also the Law of Two Feet:

After two rounds of 1-hour sessions, there is a wrap-up, and the results of the sessions are written for distribution. In the case of this Open Space, here is the list of topics that made up the agenda. The list will include further links to the actual reports as they are published.
