During Bowfest 2010 our little group was busy at the L.I.F.T. exhibit on the Bowfest field. Fitch took some video of our setup, and it is presented here with permission.
We are not yet decided on what ‘LIFT’ stands for. “Linking Islanders For Transportation” seems to be the leading acronym. It’s about hitchhiking, but we are finding that it is really islanders becoming more proactive about offering lifts. The idea isn’t new. Folks who’ve lived here a while remember when pedestrians were always offered rides. It is part of the Bowen Island culture.
