Since I needed new chains for the car, I’ve been looking for better performing chains that are also easier to install. This is what I found. I have installed them to check to see that they fit. The plastic is to keep them clean in case they have to be returned. They fit. I’ll post the boring details in the next pane of the blog…___________________________

The first picture (way up at the top of this post) shows additional tighteners attached over the chains. I read that most of the wear on chains results from loose chains spinning away from the tires and slapping hard against the road. The additional tighteners are cheap and recommended.
After the initial installation, the car should be driven for a few meters and then everything will require retightening. After that they are ready for driving.
Watch for more here when I try them on snow.
Do you live in Italy? I have two cars and despite your wonderful instructions my chains just end up in a twisted mess. I am sure Mrs Sensible would make you a nice pasta dish if you come and fit the chains for us.
PS. I have nicked your first pic for my blog.
All the best Pecora Nera.
