Howe Sound Sounds of Fog

We have had a long and extraordinary spell of weather: there has been fog at sea level and clear skies above.

All day, as the ferries travel from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale, Nanaimo and Snug Cove, they all sail near to Bowen Island. As a safety measure they blow their mighty horns. That echo-y music is constantly in the background of our lives.

At 5 PM, which is the beginning of dusk, I went out with the stereo audio recorder.

This is meant to be ambient sound. Adjust the volume so that you can just hear the background, and let it play. About 18 minutes.

This is really extraordinary (although I admit I did an edit of my own to remove the vehicle sounds, camera shutters, footsteps, dialogue, etc). Thank you SO much for making this recording! Invaluable audio document.
